Tesco recalls popular chocolate bar amid health fears

Happi Free From has issued a food recall on Oat M!lk chocolate bars (80g), supplied to Tesco, because they contain undeclared milk. This means that the product poses a potential health risk for anyone allergic or intolerant to milk or milk constituents.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a risk statement regarding the recall: “This product contains milk which makes it a potential health risk for anyone allergic or intolerant to milk or its constituents.”

He explained that Tesco was taking steps to keep customers safe.

The supermarket giant said: “Happi Free From is recalling the above product from customers.

“The company has issued a point of sale notice to its customers.

DO NOT MISS

The FSA explained: “Sometimes there will be a problem with a food product which means it should not be sold.

“Then it can be ‘retired’ (removed from shelves) or ‘recalled’ (when customers are asked to return the product).

“Sometimes foods need to be withdrawn or recalled if there is a risk to consumers because allergy labeling is missing or incorrect or if there is any other food allergy risk.

“Where there is a risk of food allergy, the FSA will issue an allergy alert.
