Tottenham set to be without World Cup star Richarlison for ‘at least a month’ after hamstring injury

No rest for Harry Kane! Richarlison faces ‘at least a month’ with World Cup hamstring injury, leaving Tottenham even more reliant on heartbroken England captain

Tottenham have been dealt a blow ahead of Premier League return as Brazilian striker Richarlison faces a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Spurs are set to be without the World Cup star for ‘at least a month’ after he picks up the injury during Brazil’s exit to Qatar – meaning Harry Kane won’t have long to recover from his heartache.

Richarlison was injured during the warm-up of Shock defeat of Brazil in the quarter-finals against Croatia Friday night but continued to play for 84 minutes.

The striker returned to Tottenham on Monday for testing, with the north London club now awaiting results amid fears he could be out for at least a month, Evening Standard reports.

Kane and his international teammates returned from Qatar on Sundaythe day after the quarter-final loss to France in which the England captain missed a late kick to equalise.

The forward was visibly emotional after the final whistle – but Kane has just seven days to get over the disappointment with his return to Spurs scheduled for Monday, December 19.

Kane admitted straight after the England defeat that the pain of missing his penalty and losing to France “will hurt for a long time”.

And there’s no rest for World Cup stars with Spurs back in the Premier League on Boxing Day at Brentford.

One game after another for Spurs, with a home game against Aston Villa before another clash in London, this time against Crystal Palace.

Spurs then had an FA Cup draw with Portsmouth before a difficult week, starting in the North London derby against league leaders Arsenal before a trip to face Manchester City four days later.

It’s another blow for Spurs boss Antonio Conte, who has already had to battle with the Brazilian and Dejan Kulusevski out for almost a month in the build-up to the World Cup.

Conte would have been delighted to see Richarlison perform well on the world stage with the Brazilian striker scoring three times, including two spectacular efforts.

The Spurs manager could have integrated Richarlison into the squad and given Kane time to recover physically and mentally.

However, Kane will now be needed more than ever as Spurs seek to retain their place in the top four.

The Spurs leader has started all 22 games for the club this season and has also played 90 minutes in their six Champions League games.
