Chained Echoes is going to be my game of choice for the next few weeks – I’m only a few hours into it but it’s really Well. The plot moves at a brisk pace, and the combat has just enough wrinkles to make the otherwise old-school turn-based combat system feel fresh. Honestly, nothing feels more cozy and festive than snuggling up with an SNES-style RPG.
And, while I should be buying gifts for other people, I bought Lil Gator Game for myself, so I’ll probably start this weekend. I think my love of crocodiles is well documented (Totodile, Krookodile, Skeledirge), and I need something a little healthier compared to some of the Chained Echoes events.

With the news of Death Stranding 2 of the Game Awards, I turned on the old PS4 this week in an attempt to circumvent eventually finish the first match. Besides having to relearn all the controls from scratch and being swept away by BTs left, right and center, I still have a great time with it and look forward to playing more.
In the world of Switch, who knows what the weekend will bring? I’ve recently completed all of my in-progress games – just in time for the meaty Switch eShop sale, might I add – so maybe something new will be on the cards. To my great shame, I never really played underworld and who is enjoying a tasty discount right now, so maybe it’s time to finally accept it.

OOOOH my pre-Christmas gaming schedule is pretty full. I’m playing Metal Gear Solid V for the first time – it’s also my very first Kojima game, so it’s an experiment – and it turns out that I’m really good at it, which is a nice feeling. My partner also plays Outer Wildlands for the first time, something I’ve been waiting for YEARS, to the point that it’s even a little stressful!
On Switch, however, it ends Pokemon Scarletand i just bought A.k.a…which is nice, but a bit broken so far, which is a shame. But I’m sure a few patches will help!

As this weekend marks the 35th anniversary of the first mega man game i will start Mega Man Legacy Collection on the Switch and… playing all titles except the first one. Listen, we all know that’s the lowest. Still, I can’t wait to dive back into the series and who knows, maybe we’ll hear from Capcom about what’s next for the franchise…
Elsewhere I will start The Witcher 3 on Series X. I’ve already tried the new update and although the visuals don’t seem significantly different to me (I play in Performance mode), the changed camera angle is a huge improvement, so I can’t wait to dig a little deeper.

Always at it Mission before 1st: Remake. It’s great that the same tactics used all those years ago on the Super Famicom still work on Switch today, so whenever I run out of cash to upgrade my wanzers into ultimate metal threats, I Simply tie Gregorio up in the shittest games available with two beefy melee weapons and watch him take down opponents who are 2.50 odds against. It should be illegal! On that note, France won the Virtua Striker 3 ver. 2002 Shiryu Living Room World Cup 2022 on Gamecube.
The game of the week is Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. Sony’s PSP came late in my gaming journey, but I still managed to put together a nice collection of games. Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time for JRPGs, so I only played a few hours of the original release of this one. I plan on catching up on this and who knows, this might just be my gateway to Final Fantasy VII Remake. PS: Sephiroth did nothing wrong.
As always, thanks for reading! Be sure to leave us a comment below with your weekend game plans!
