PSVR 2 games list – here are all the games announced so far

THE PSVR 2 launched on February 22, 2023, and between Sony and game developers, more than 100 titles have already been announced for the next generation of one of the best VR headsets.

From follow-ups to hit console games to new ports of existing console hits, there are a ton of titles to choose from. They fulfill a wide range of genres – from thrilling action-horror shooters to MMORPGs. We even already covered seven PSVR 2 games we’re particularly excited about. But this list is about sharing all major PSVR 2 games announced so far.

Alright, so first thing is first: there aren’t many truly exclusive titles on PlayStation VR2. The ones collected here, however, are at the very least exclusive to the platform when it comes to VR games. So while yes, you can play Gran Turismo 7 on your PlayStation 5, PSVR 2 is the only place to experience it in VR.

Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7 for PSVR 2 looks pretty awesome. The graphics are exceptional and a racing simulator could be the perfect game for virtual reality. Frankly, the visuals don’t look out of place compared to the console version of the game. The VR version of Gran Turismo 7 is a free add-on to the PS5 version of the game and will launch alongside PSVR 2 on February 22.

Horizon Call of the Mountain

After watching the trailer, we understand where the hype for Horizon Call of the Mountain is coming from. The graphics, action and storyline all look appealing and this game is a true PSVR 2 exclusive – it’s not a PC or console port and it’s not playable on other VR headsets. Plus, it’s part of Guerrilla Games’ excellent Horizon series, so expectations are running high at this point.

The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR

Supermassive Games Game Director Alejandro Arque Gallardo promises that Switchback VR will be a “nightmarish roller coaster action shooter in VR”. And despite being entirely on track, the action in The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR feels completely off-track. From its hard rock soundtrack to bloody mayhem, this trailer has us hooked and presents a great opportunity for haptic feedback in PSVR 2.

All PSVR 2 Games Announced So Far: Launch Titles

In addition to some of the exclusives already mentioned, there are a ton of games already available from launch day. Here are some of the highlights, followed by a full list of all PSVR 2 titles from launch day.

After the fall

After the Fall is a cooperative first-person shooter where you and your friends battle the Snow Breed, who have invaded the frozen wastes of crumbling Los Angeles. The graphics aren’t as good as some of the best console games, but that’s to be expected. The gameplay, however, seems to keep you on the edge of your seat – if only you could actually sit down.

The PSVR 2 version is expected to get a noticeable performance upgrade and new features like controller haptics and adaptive triggers and will be cross-play with other VR platforms. If you own the PS VR version of the game, you will be upgraded to the PSVR 2 version for free.

Whip Gun

Pistol Whip VR’s art style with bright colors and low polygon character design blends perfectly with its rhythm-based FPS gameplay. Like After the Fall, Pistol Whip isn’t new to PSVR 2. Instead, it looks to take on the new features and improved graphics to deliver an enhanced experience. It will be interesting to see how haptic feedback plays out in immersive gameplay, especially in a rhythm-based game where feedback beats might actually matter. If you own the PS VR version of the game, you will be upgraded to the PSVR 2 version for free.

Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village looks both awesome and terrifying. Even from the trailer, you can feel the impressive sound design and fine detail in Lady Dimitrescu’s castle. The best part: The VR experience is promised throughout the single-player campaign. This PSVR 2 exclusive (for VR platforms) seems to be one of the best games for the headset. Resident Evil Village is available on launch day (February 22) as a free update for the existing PS5 game.

All PSVR 2 Games Announced So Far: Other Titles Confirmed

Among Us VR

Among Us VR is a lot of fun on the Meta Quest 2. Whether you played the original on PC or mobile, the premise is pretty much the same: walk around, complete tasks, and discover the impostor among you. But the VR version of the game may be the best way to play it. The controls are well designed and the proximity chat feature is great. Since you’re in virtual reality, you actually have to talk to your teammates to communicate, and their voices change in volume depending on how far away they are from you.

At the moment there is no way to pre-order Among Us VR, although it has been confirmed that it will come to PSVR 2. You can buy Among Us for PS5 now on the PlayStation Store.

Beat Saber is an incredibly popular VR game – it might even be the most popular VR game. While the rhythm-based cube slasher is most commonly associated with the Meta Quest 2, it’s been available on the PS VR headset for a while. The game is now officially available for the PSVR 2 through a free upgrade for owners of the PS VR version and is launching alongside a Queen Music Pack.

Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil Village isn’t the only Resident Evil game coming to the PSVR 2. Resident Evil 4 has been remade for the PS5. Although the PSVR 2 version is still not launched, Capcom stated that it will be distributed as “free DLC”. We did see some footage recently at the PlayStation Showcase though, so hopefully that will come soon.
