LIVE cost of living updates: Over a million Britons will receive £326 THIS week; more how to reduce bills and save money

Which supermarket really offers the best value for money?

MANY of us are finding the cost of everyday essentials hard to control due to the cost of living crisis.

Every penny saved can help, so it would be helpful to know which supermarket is really the cheapest.

Luckily, a savvy mum decided to test five different supermarkets in the UK to see which one is the cheapest.

Posting the video to her TikTok account, This Mum Cooks, she bought five of the same items from every supermarket.

The mum has tried Asda’s new Just Essentials range as well as budget ranges from Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Marks & Spencer.

In the video, she said, “I bought the same or the most similar products that I could get in all five budget ranges from different supermarkets,” to see which was the cheapest.

Mom bought a loaf of bread, a packet of cookies, baked beans, jam and a bag of peppers from every store.

The mother first tried the Asda range, then went to Sainsburys, M&S, Tesco and finally Aldi.

All five items cost just £2.36 at Aldi, followed by Tesco at £2.69, Sainsbury’s at £2.88, Asda at £3 and finally M&S at £4.30.
